Painter in Flora Hill
The City of Greater Bendigo's Golden Square heritage study describes the HO23 Wallace Avenue Precinct in Flora Hill as a mix of single storey Victorian, Edwardian and Interwar dwellings, and as a collection of housing from the 1920s and 1930s. The study text read for this page does not say whether paint controls apply there: the City's Planning Property Report shows whether an address is in an overlay.

Permits and City of Greater Bendigo rules
The City of Greater Bendigo says that under the Heritage Overlay a planning permit is generally required to externally paint an unpainted surface, and that most places in the overlay are subject to an exemptions plan this site has not read. Whether a given house is in an overlay is shown by the City's free Planning Property Report, not by this page.

Painter around Flora Hill
The study quotes a 1993 heritage study's description of the housing as detached, with pitched, mainly hipped roofs with minor gabled elements; that description is the source's own, from 1993. The same passage lists the precinct's contributory streets by wall material, mostly timber and stucco with one in brick and stucco. This page does not repeat the five street names, because the study spells one of them two ways.
Timber and stucco are two different wall surfaces to prepare, and a 1920s or 1930s house is in the group the Lead Alert guide covers when it says paints containing as much as 50 per cent lead were used on the inside and outside of homes built before 1950. The guide does not say that any given house has lead paint. Ask whether the paint has been tested before anyone sands or scrapes, and check the address for an overlay first.
